Faster, Simpler
If you have visited AssemblyTube recently, you may have noticed that the homepage looks very different.
AssemblyTube has grown over many years and now includes assembly ideas, presentations, stories, songs, videos, values resources, interactive tools, planning resources and contributions from teachers.
The new homepage has been designed around one main aim: to help busy teachers find what they need more quickly.
The message at the top of the page is:
Plan it. Present it. Get them thinking.
That reflects what AssemblyTube is here to help you do. It is not simply a collection of links. It is a practical toolkit for planning and delivering assemblies that pupils will remember.
Start with What You Need
The most important new section is called “Start with what you need.”
Instead of expecting you to understand every part of AssemblyTube before you begin, the homepage asks a simpler question:
How can AssemblyTube help today?
You can then choose from four practical starting points.
Find a Ready-Made Assembly
Sometimes you need a complete presentation that you can adapt and deliver, particularly when preparation time is short.
This route takes you directly towards ready-made assemblies containing the structure, visuals, stories and reflection points needed to get started quickly.
Plan Your Assembly
At other times, you may already have a theme but need help developing it.
This route leads towards ideas, stories, songs, questions and resources that can help you build your own assembly. It also connects with the Values Assembly Resource Hub, where material is organised around 37 important school values.
Involve Every Pupil
An effective assembly should encourage pupils to think, not simply listen.
The Think Again tool allows teachers to ask a question before an assembly and then ask the same question afterwards. Pupils can consider whether anything they have heard has changed or developed their thinking.
Create the Right Atmosphere
The opening moments of an assembly matter.
The fourth route helps you begin with music, an image, a short story or a reflective moment. The Assembly Mood Setter can help capture attention and establish the right atmosphere before the main message begins.
Together, these four choices allow you to start with the job that needs doing rather than searching through menus.
Already Know Your Topic?
Some teachers arrive knowing exactly what their next assembly will be about.
The homepage now includes a clear search section asking:
What is your next assembly about?
You can search for a theme such as kindness, friendship, resilience, Harvest, Christmas or Remembrance and go directly towards relevant AssemblyTube resources.
This means you can either browse according to what you need help doing or search immediately when you already know your topic.
Present with Confidence
The redesigned homepage gives AssemblyTube presentations a much clearer place.
You can explore Values assemblies, find seasonal presentations or browse the full PowerPoint collection.
The homepage also introduces the distinction between Visual and Classic presentations, making it easier to choose the style that works best for you and your pupils.
A new collection of assemblies based around 37 values is also being developed, using strong visuals, clear ideas and teacher guidance to help make important messages memorable.
Useful Resources Right Now
The homepage includes a calm, selective showcase of resources that may be particularly useful.
You can begin with a value you want pupils to remember, use Think Again to explore whether an assembly changes their minds, or choose a short Assembly Story to bring a big idea to life.
Rather than presenting too many competing choices, this section highlights a few strong starting points.
Why AssemblyTube?
The redesign also explains more clearly what AssemblyTube is intended to help teachers achieve.
It can help you:
- Save planning time by finding a complete presentation or quickly gathering the resources needed to create your own.
- Make ideas memorable through stories, images, music and strong visuals.
- Turn listening into thinking by using questions and reflection to help pupils respond and reconsider their ideas.
These three benefits sit at the heart of the new homepage.
Meet the Assembly Leader’s Toolkit
The homepage now brings together several key tools as the Assembly Leader’s Toolkit.
The Values Hub organises ideas and resources around 37 school values.
The Mood Setter helps create the right atmosphere before an assembly starts.
Think Again asks the same question before and after an assembly.
Assembly Stories provides short stories with teaching points and discussion ideas.
Bringing these resources together makes it much clearer how each one can support a real assembly-planning task.
Planning Resources, Community and Newsletter
The homepage also provides a clearer route to free planning resources that can help you find suitable material and keep a record of the values you have covered.
There is a direct route into the AssemblyTube Community, where Assembly Leaders can ask questions, recommend resources and explore ideas shared by other teachers.
You can also join the newsletter to receive new resources, stories and timely suggestions linked to the school calendar.
Take a Fresh Look
The changes to AssemblyTube are about more than a new design.
The homepage has been reorganised around the questions teachers actually ask:
What do I need to do?
What is my assembly about?
Is there something ready to use?
How can I make pupils think?
Whether you need a complete assembly for tomorrow morning, a story that brings a value to life, music to set the mood or a question that encourages reflection, the new homepage should help you find it more quickly.
Even if you have used AssemblyTube for years, take another look. You may discover useful tools and resources that you did not realise were there.
I hope the new homepage makes AssemblyTube faster to navigate, simpler to understand and even more useful when planning your next assembly.
