Theme:
A 10 minute assembly to challenge the children around the area of prejudice and to help them realise that they are unique in the eyes of God.
Plan:
Introduction (1 minute)
Welcome the young people to the assembly and introduce yourself and any team present. Explain to the group that today we are going to eliminate some of the young people (say nothing more at this stage!)
Elimination Station (5 minutes)
Tell the assembly that you are going to play a new game called the elimination challenge, and that you are Mr. Eliminator. Explain that in a moment you are going to ask everyone to stand and then you will ask them a series of questions. If they answer 'yes' to the questions they must sit down. This will carry on until one child is left standing, who will be the winner.
Invite the children to stand, and begin asking the following 'elimination' questions:
Do you have brown hair?
Did you get a lift to school today?
Do you have a watch on?
Do you like cats?
Do you have a brother/sister at this school?
Did you have toast for breakfast?
Did you watch TV last night?
Continue asking questions in this vein until their is only one child left. Make a big fuss of presenting the winner with a small prize before moving on.
