Ambition - The Apprentice - Script
« on: January 28, 2013, 09:31:46 AM »
In life we spend a lot of time thinking about what we are going to ‘do’ – what we want to achieve in school. Let’s take some time to think about who we want to become – what kind of character we want to develop.

Resources: Flip chart paper and stand, big gold stars, lemon juice, hairdryer (with power source), prize.

Preparation: Copy the template chart provided onto the flip chart paper. Write the word ‘character’ in lemon juice. This will should dry and should become invisible.

Invite a volunteer to the front. Explain that you’re going to find out what they have been learning at school. With every correct answer, put a gold star in the box.

ENGLISH: Who wrote Romeo and Juliet? (Shakespeare)
MATHS: How many degrees is a right-angle? (90)
SCIENCE: What element do humans breathe in order to live? (Oxygen)
HISTORY: What major event happened between 1914 and 1918? (WW1)
GEOGRAPHY: What is the capital of Italy? (Rome)
RE: What is the Christian holy book called? (The Bible)
ART: What colour do you get if you mix red and yellow? (Orange)
MUSIC: How many beats is a crotchet worth? (1)

When they have finished the quiz, congratulate them on everything they have learnt. Ask them what hopes they have for the future. Think about how what they have learnt at school will equip them for it. Give them the prize accordingly.
