Contentment - Script

Theme:
Contentment. We often strive for things in life, at the expense of enjoying what we already have. Learn to appreciate the small things in life - they are often the best!

Plan:
GAME: Bigger is better?

Resources: Small Celebration sweet (or equivalent), 'fun size' chocolate bar, regular size chocolate bar, big chocolate bar, tin of Celebrations (or equivalent) with no chocolates in... only parcel filler / small pebbles (or something disappointingly not chocolate!)

Ask for a volunteer. Ideally, they are quite ambitious! Run through the quiz and with each correct answer ask if they would like to keep the prize, or keep moving to win something bigger and better instead. Show them what they could win each time. The questions are deliberately easy to inspire confidence. Award the prizes in order of size. When they win the big tin, invite them to eat one now and watch for their disappointment!

Questions:
1. What is the capital of England? (London, Paris, Brasilia, Ougadougou)
2. Complete the name of this famous X Factor judge: Simon... (Smith, Jones, Cowell, Brown)
3. What is the shortest month of the year? (January, February, March, April)
4. How many players are on the football pitch at the beginning of a standard game of football? (19, 22, 26, 38)
5. What is the name of the festival celebrated on December 25th every year? (Christmas, Easter, Valentines Day, Remembrance Day)

Explain: Who would have seen that coming? If they had, maybe they would have stopped to enjoy what they already had.
