The character Rainbow Fish has shiny scales and is very clever, but he learns to include others who are different.

Rainbow Fish is mostly blue, unlike the new fish Stripey, who is green and gold. Stripey is excluded at first, which makes the story relevant for anti-sectarian education.

The adult can then lead discussion with the children about a time they were left out, how they felt about it and what they did. This can involve talking about emotions and feelings, as well as developing strategies to deal with being left out and to encourage children to be more inclusive in their play.
Here's an outline of an Assembly using "The Rainbow Fish" from Education Scotland.
