Leadership Lessons - Leading assemblies

Here's a great blog by Sapuran Gill, on Leading Assemblies.
Some great advice.

Do you have any advice for new Assembly Leaders? Why not air your views on AssemblyTube. Just reply to this post with a brief comment, or use the shout box.(You need to log in to comment as otherwise the internet robot spammers fill the site with adverts for goodness knows what!)

Memorise the story you're going to tell and encourage participation from children and adults, where possible.
Make sure that children and adults understand why you're telling the story - what value is it linked to.
Ensure it goes hand in hand with what is being learnt in PSHE and wider topics.
Consult with your School Council members and ask them for feedback.
